This work was written for the Viennese Saxophone Quartet. The pitch content was taken from each of the member's names:
Gerald Preinfalk: G, B-flat
Michaela Reingruber: E, E-flat
Thomas Schoen: B, A-flat
Sabine Zwick: F-sharp, C
The "X" from the word "Sax" gave rise to various procedures, including the idea of switching places or locations. This work is dedicated to Erwin Kropfitsch and the Viennese Saxophone Quartet, who premiered it in Feldkirchen, Austria 14 July 2002.
