for violin and ensemble  

This work for violin and small mixed ensemble, which will serve as the basis for my violin concerto, was written for Wolfgang David, violin, and Studio New Music, an ensemble at the Moscow Conservatory. It was premiered in Rachmaninoff Hall on April 15, 2003. The work is based on a Russian Orthodox chant, a domestic chant using text from the Trisagion - Holy God, Holy and Strong, Holy Immortal One, have mercy upon us.
